FAQ
How can I read the Bible?
Reading the Bible is a personal journey, and everyone’s approach is different. Be patient, have an open mind, and allow God’s Word to speak to and touch your heart.
What book of the Bible should I start with?
If you want to start with the Old Testament, Genesis is the first book to read. If you want to start with the New Testament, The Gospel of Matthew is the first book. Reading through the Bible’s Old and New Testaments is a sure way to see God’s plan of redemption unfold.
Where can I read the Bible online for free?
You can read the Bible online on this page for free. We have included the KJV Bible and the Catholic Bible (Douay-Rheims version).
What language did Jesus speak?
Jesus likely spoke Aramaic as his native language. Aramaic was a Semitic language spoken in the region of Judea during Jesus’ time. So while Jesus primarily spoke Aramaic, it’s possible that he had some exposure to Greek as the region of Judea was under Roman occupation, and perhaps even Hebrew, as it was the language of religious texts and teachings.
How to read the Bible daily?
Reading the Bible daily will give you a lot of peace and joy. Start by choosing the same time daily, choose a quiet place, pray before reading the bible, read a complete chapter, and finally meditate on the Word of God.
